I LOVE craft projects. I have a whole closet dedicated to meticulously labelled craft supplies, which I have been lovingly collecting since I was pregnant with my first child, and dreaming about spending long, leisurely afternoons with her, assembling original creations, as we chat.

Sometimes, though, all those craft supplies can seem much more attractive neatly organizes in the closet, than they do strewn in industrial quantities across our dining room table. All I’m saying is that while big ambitious projects can be hugely satisfying, sometimes you can muster just enough energy for something a little more manageable.

That’s why we love these new bookmarks we have created, and have dubbed them “The World’s Easiest DIY Bookmarks”. And if you choose some pale colors and the right buttons, these are perfect little gifts for Easter!

All you need to make each of these bookmarks is:

  • 1 giant (4″) paper clip (we bought ours at Target)
  • 1 shank button (shanks have a loop on the back of the button, like these)
  • A hot glue gun

Here’s what you do:

  1. Slip the button onto the paper clip and slide it until it is sitting at the top of the clip.
(I.e. make sure the paper clip is oriented the way it appears in the picture below.)
  2. Apply a small dot of glue to the top of the paper clip, and firmly press the button against the clip to secure in place.

Believe it or not, that’s all there is to it!

Now go and celebrate all the time you saved and mess you don’t have to clean up! Or if you are still up for more, why not make our Falling Star Magnetic Bookmarks, our our Ribbon Bookmarks?

Either way, please don’t forget to let us know how your project turned out by leaving us a comment below. Have fun!
