I just signed up for an account, but have not received the activation link. Why?

Check your spam folder for the activation email. While you're there, be sure to add notifications@reading-rewards.com to your contacts to ensure you get future emails from us! Not in your spam folder? You may have entered an invalid email account. If so, please sign up again using your correct email address. Finally, some organizations may actually block emails that they suspect being spam. This is particularly true in some schools. Please check with your IT or IS department and ask them to allow emails from reading-rewards.com!

I logged reading time, but the entry has a red 'x' next to it, and I did not get any RR Miles or time credit. Why?

A red 'x' next to the reading log entry means that your reading log has not been validated by your parents yet. Ask them to check their email address (SPAM folder, too!) for the validation email. In the email, there will be a link they should click on to validate the entry.

My reading time got validated, but I did not earn any RR miles. Why not?

Kids earn 1 RR mile per validated minute of reading time, up to a maximum of 90 per day for reading.

How can I earn RR Miles?

By reading! You will earn 1 RR Mile per minute of reading, up to a maximum of 90 per day. You will also earn 10 RR Miles every time you finish a book, and another 10 RR Miles if you write a lengthy enough review. You can also earn RR Miles if you win any of our games! (Bingo, Code Cracker, Creature Race, etc). Kids earn 1 RR mile per validated minute of reading time, up to a maximum of 90 per day for reading.

What can I do with my RR Miles?

Ask your parents or teachers to add rewards to your very own RR Store! Teachers can add a reward to the group's RR Store, and parents can add rewards to their children's store, by logging in with either their 'parent' account or their child's account. Click on 'My Rewards', 'RR Store' and then 'Add Item To Store' to set up a reward that you can purchase with your RR Miles. When you 'buy' the reward, your teacher or your parent must provide it to you! So be sure you have agreed this with them, first. :-) See this post about reading incentive ideas for some great suggestions!

Can I see what my classmates are reading?

If you have just Reading-Rewards as part of a group with your class, you can see what your classmates are reading by clicking on your group's name from the 'My Reading' page. You will then see a list of your classmates, as well as a picture of the book they are currently reading. Clicking on your classmate's name will take you to their public page, which will show you all the books they are reading (or have read), their reviews, and even wish list! This is a great way to get great book recommendations.

I notice that I sometimes earn a badge. How do I earn more?

Kids earn different badges by doing one of these things:

1. Finishing a book
2. Reviewing a book
3. Reaching a daily or weekly reading target set by their teacher

You can only earn one of each type per day (maximum 3 badges per day). See if you can complete any of the series!!
