When registering: We directly collect from a child or parent during our initial registration process a parent's email address and a child's account name and first name. The email address is then used to contact the parent in order for the parent to register his/her child and activate his/her account. At such point, we collect personal information from the parent, including the child’s last name (or initial), gender, birth month and year, and country. A child’s last name will only be used by their teacher in order to accurately identify the child within the reading group. First name and initial will only be used in order to enable the child’s friends to contact him/her through our website and exchange about books and readings. The parent is also asked to provide the age (month and year) of his/her child. This information will only be used in order to allow us to propose and recommend books and readings appropriate for the child’s age. The parent will be requested to provide his/her child’s country of origin and state/province, for the purpose of presenting the most appropriate book database for the child’s location. The parent’s email address will also be used in order to notify the parent about our privacy practices, to send reading validation emails, to send the parent communications either about the child’s account or about features of our website, and for the other purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

When connecting to friends and participating in our blog: A child may provide information, using our site, when connecting to friends or participating in our blog. We will only use this information strictly in order for the child to communicate through the blog or with his friends which are also registered users of our website. The information will be deleted after a period of 90 days. Children should be reminded not to disclose any personal or otherwise sensitive information when using our website. Nonetheless, if your child uses these functions within this website and disclose personal information, you should be aware that such information could be read, collected or used by other users. We are not responsible for the personal information that a child chooses to submit through these functions.

When contacting us: We may collect your personal information such as your name, contact information and e-mail address when you contact us requesting more information about Reading Rewards.com or when you make an inquiry through our website. We will only use this information to contact you in order to answer your questions and requests or to provide you with the information which you have requested.
